This is for sure one of the best „Basis-Pinots” you could find in Germany and it is still in shape. The wine mirrors the soil and the countryside. Slim, powerful, earthy and immense cool it is totally driven by minerality. Also many herbs and ripe berries. A benchmark.

This enthusing wine takes no prisoners. Carried by fresh and gripping dark minerality it scores with juiciness and creaminess. In addition many herbs, honey, apple and peach. Powerful and salty finish. Tight and self-centered core. Produced by biodynamic agriculture standards.

Winery Heid ~ Spätburgunder “Fellb. Lämmler” *** 2011

                                

An organic Pinot Noir which has nothing to do with a fruit driven and chocolatey wine. Directly after being opened it showed more or less what it has to offer. Then it got closed. Needs time to develop. Cool and polished with exciting depth. Coming from the darker side with a lot of earthy minerality. Spicy and subtle. A Terroir-Wine with potential. Pleasing calmness.

Winery Gies-Düppel ~ Viognier 2012

                                

One of the finest wines in Germany from the rare grape variety Viognier. Combines in harmony the specific character and the philosophy of the winery. Elegant and charming with ripe fruit and formative flowery aroma. Fresh because of very nice acidity and minerality as well. Very good.

Winery Rings ~ Cabernet Sauvignon -S- 2007

                                

Unfortunately my last bottle. Outstanding Cabernet Sauvignon from the Pfalz region. Wonderfully aged. Driven from red pepper and herbs. Also a lot of tobacco and black current. Complex and with refreshing slim minerality. Awesome effort.
